Worldnet 2011
Punch Drunk entered 3 teams in the 2011 Worldnet at Leeds on 23 and 24 July.

The SA team drew all 3 of their group matches but got through to the cup as one of the best 3rd placed team. Rachael Pilgrim drew them to have an 8AM kick off on Sunday morning which they lost on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
The NE team struggled to gel as a team on day one. They lost all their group matches although they were only outclassed by FC United of Manchester. After a fine cooked breakfast they played at 10AM on Sunday. This was a much better performance. We took the lead but lost 2-1 to the eventual plate
runners up. A draw would have been a fair result.
The Vet were our team of the weekend. They failed to score in their group matches and finished bottom of a tough group. However a golden goal gave them a 2-1 victory in their 8AM Sunday kickoff. Thanks again to Rachael Pilgrim for that one. 
A fantastic acheivement for PDFC to win a match at Worldnet on Sunday after all this time.
A huge crowd of A and B team players gathered to cheer them on in their second round match. Noteable absentees were Martin, who after missing a one on one golden goal chance had gone home
to “let his cat in” and Phil T who had gone back to the hotel for breakfast. ;)
The players ran out to Singing the Blues booming out of Chappers music system and Chelsea Dagger boomed out when we scored. We even had some half time music. A 2-1 defeat was looming when with the last attack Sarah chested the ball down in the box but her sweetly struck shot cannoned off
the inside of the post and 2-1 it stayed.
